Applying Renaissance Wax
- Test on a small inconspicuous area first to ensure wax is suitable for the object.
- Dab a small amount onto a soft, dry cloth, eg microfibre.
- Apply thinly and buff to a full lustre.
- If additional coats are required, allow to dry (30 mins to 1 hour) then repeat application.
Tips
- Wipe surface with a clean cloth before applying wax to remove dust and fingerprints.
- The number of coats required will depend on how often the item is touched, its location and the type of material it is made from.
- These factors will also determine how often maintenance coats should be applied.
- You may wish to clean badly tarnished metals before application, for example, using Brasso or a gentle abrasive paste such as Pre-Lim™ Metal Burnisher. Ensure all cleaner is removed before applying wax.
- You may wish to clean surfaces (eg stone, plastic, paint, etc) before application with a gentle soap solution, such as Vulpex™ Liquid Soap.
